You fill it from [Ask](/docs/product/ask), from a CSV file, or by hand; you enrich the rows you care about; you organize, filter and export it. Creating, renaming, organizing and exporting Lists is free. Only enrichment lookups cost credits.

This guide walks the whole cycle. Every screen shown is the current app, captured on 2026-09-14 with sample data.

## 1. Create a List

From [the Lists page](/lists), the **New list** card creates an empty List for people or for companies. Give it a name; the entity type is fixed at creation and decides what the List can hold.

![The Lists home page with the New list card](/product-guides/lists-home-2026-09-14.png)

A workspace can hold up to **200 Lists**, each up to **25,000 members**.

## 2. Import people or companies

Open a List and choose **Import CSV**:

- **Upload a CSV:** you map the columns of your file (for example the LinkedIn URL column) and preview what will be imported before anything is added.
- **Paste:** drop LinkedIn URLs or email addresses directly into a text box.
- **From Ask:** ask in [Ask](/ask) to save the results of a conversation into a List; the rows land with the data already paid for.

![The import dialog with CSV column mapping](/product-guides/lists-import-2026-09-14.png)

Imported rows first arrive as **pending signals**: identities the List received but has not resolved yet. Signals are free to hold; they become full members when they are resolved. Rows that cannot be used (no recognizable LinkedIn URL, email or name) are reported as skipped, never silently dropped.

You can also add a handful of people by hand with **Add people**.

## 3. Enrich the rows you choose

Enrichment fills a family of data across selected rows: **person profiles** (role, background, experience, education, signals), **company pages** (industry, size, website), or **contact emails** (a verified professional email per person).

1. **Select rows** (or enrich the whole List) and pick what to fill.
2. **Read the quote before spending.** The dialog tells you exactly how many rows are eligible, how many already carry the data and would be skipped, and the total worst-case price in credits. A quote is valid for ten minutes. The scope is frozen, so rows changed after that need a new quote.
3. **Confirm.** Credits are reserved for the quoted scope, the job runs row by row, and you can **pause, resume or cancel** it while it runs.
4. **Watch it land.** Cells fill progressively; the header shows the job's progress.

![An enrichment quote showing eligible rows and credits](/product-guides/lists-enrich-quote-2026-09-14.png)

Worth knowing before you run one:

- **Already-enriched rows are skipped by default:** you are not re-billed for data the List already holds.
- **Re-run is deliberate.** Turn on the re-run option to include rows processed before; those rows are enriched and charged again.
- **Cancel is honest but not free.** Rows already processed when you cancel keep their data and stay charged; the remaining rows are not run and are not billed. Your provider refunds nothing for the work already done.
- **Contact email has a scope choice**: rows never attempted, or retry the ones that errored. Rows that came back "no email found" are a real answer and are not retried by default.

## 4. Organize: columns, order, views, filters

- **Columns.** Add the enrichment fields you want to see (email status, follower counts, experience, education, website…), hide the ones you do not, and create your own free-text columns for notes. Hide and show from the **Columns** menu in the view selector.
- **Order.** Drag a column header to reorder columns, or use its menu, which keeps reordering available from the keyboard.
- **Views.** Save a combination of filters and columns as a **saved view**, then reopen it any time. Opening a view counts the members that match *right now*; it never freezes a selection. Views created from an Ask conversation are marked with their origin.
- **Filters.** Filter a List by its stored fields, including name, title, current company, country and contact email status. Filters can be saved inside a view.
- **Density and search.** Compact or cozy rows, and a search box that filters the grid as you type.

![The columns menu with enrichment fields](/product-guides/lists-columns-2026-09-14.png)

## 5. Export to CSV

**Export CSV** writes a file of the List: every member with its base profile columns, the LinkedIn URL, contact email results, and your own columns and their values. The export always covers the whole List. Filters and views shape the screen, not the file.

Exporting is free and can be repeated as often as you need.

## 6. Undo an operation

Open **History** to see every operation on the List, including imports, removals and Ask additions, with what each did. For member additions and removals, History offers an **undo**:

- **You see the preview first.** Undo lists what it can reverse and what it cannot, with the reason for each row.
- **Partial undo is the norm, not a failure.** Rows a later operation has touched are left alone. Your newest changes win and are reported as conflicts, not silently reverted.
- **Charged data is not refunded.** Undo removes or restores *memberships*; lookups already billed stay billed.
- **Only member additions and removals can be undone.** Enrichment runs are managed with their job controls (pause, resume, cancel), not with undo.

![The history panel with an undo preview](/product-guides/lists-history-undo-2026-09-14.png)

## Where Ask and Lists meet

- Ask can save any answer into a new or existing List and keep working inside it (`@list` scoping in a conversation).
- Ask can filter, summarize, compare, enrich or export a List you already have, using the same credits and the same honesty rules as the screens above.
- The **Origin query** remembers the question that created a search-born List and can find **new** members matching it. It adds new rows only and never re-adds the ones you already paid for.

For what a single lookup costs, see the [Ask guide](/docs/product/ask). For the questions that come up most, see the [FAQ](/docs/product/faq).
","
A List is a working set of people or companies that belongs to your workspace.
